Sec.102 Mandatory third-party inspection


Federal law requires manufacturers and importers to test many consumer products to demonstrate compliance with consumer product safety requirements.


ØBased on the compliance test results, the manufacturer or importer must prove in the form of a written or electronic certificate that the consumer product meets the applicable consumer product safety requirements.


ØThe certificate must accompany the product or transportation, and a copy must be provided to the retailer, distributor, and government.


üThe consumer products mentioned here include children's certificate (CPC certificate) and non-children's products (GCC certificate) (general products).
